Leatha Esther Pierce

Passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Elcor Health Services. She is survived by her sons; John A. Pierce, Jr. of Pine City, NY and Kenneth L. Pierce of Horseheads, NY, daughter; Maxine (Brian D.) Learn of Chesapeake, VA, grandchildren; B. Scott Learn of Goldsboro, NC, Wade G. Learn of Norfolk, VA, Gregory J. Pierce and Robert J. Pierce both of Elmira, NY, great grandchildren; Joshua W. and S. Cody Learn of Norfolk, VA, brother; Richard (Cathy) Lewis of Spokane, WA along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband John Albert Pierce Sr. and infant son Rex Leroy Pierce predeceased Leatha. She was a clerk at Newberry?s Department Store for several years, member of Westside United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Golden Glow Volunteer Fire Department Women?s Auxiliary. Leatha enjoyed crocheting and crocheted sweater sets for Planned Parenthood, mittens for the needy and lap robes for the VA Hospitals.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Sunday, December 12, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with Funeral Service there Monday at 1:00 PM.The Rev. Don Guiles will officiate, followed by a graveside service in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.A ?Candle of Remembrance? may be left for the family in Obituaries at www.olthof.com.
