Lee J. Apostale

Formerly of Rolling Acres Road Pine City, NY was born June 17, 1921 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Peter James and Katherine (Gural) Apostalepassed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Elcor Health Services in Horseheads, NY at the age of 89. His loving wife, Ella Louise (Schonleber) predeceased him. He is survived by his beloved children, Anita Apostale of Rochester, NY; Lee (Jeannette) Apostale of Hornell, NY; adored grandson. Lee Apostale of Florida; along with 1 niece and 1 nephew. Lee proudly served his country in the US Army, serving in two wars, WW II and Viet Nam. He retired as Master Sergeant after 28 years and was a Purple Heart recipient. Lee also retired from Trayer Products after 15 years of service in the Tool Crib Department. He was a faithful communicant of St. Mary's church. Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services honoring his life on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY. The Reverend Robert McNamara will celebrate Lee's service. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery Horseheads, NY privately at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Alzheimer's Association 435 East Henrietta Road c/o Development Office Rochester, NY 14620 or to the Chemung County Humane Society SPCA Route 352 Elmira, NY 14903.
