Leland R. Purvis

Purvis, Leland Robert passed away March 8th, 2015 at the age of 86. He was born on September 11th, 1928 in Elmira Heights, NY to Leland Theodore Purvis and Marjorie Eunice (Chase). He was predeceased in death by his wife of 50 years Carolyn Purvis (Oslager). He is survived by his children Jeannine (Michael) Mouzon, Roberta (Jay) Huslse, Leland (Terra) Purvis, Kent (Melissa) Purvis, Leslie (VaLynn) Purvis, Jeffrey (Michele) Purvis, Danielle Hricko; 28 Grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; Sister Lorraine Russell; along with nieces and nephews. Leland loved the outdoors, and spending time with his grandchildren.He was a faithful member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, 1060 W. Broad Street, Horseheads, NY.He was a retiree of Westinghouse in Horseheads. In service to his country Leland served in the United State Army. Family and friends are invited to gather 10:00AM to 12:00PM Friday, March 13th, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, 1060 W. Broad Street, Horseheads, NY. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 12:00PM. Graveside services with full military honors accorded in the Maple Grove Cemetery will follow.
