Age 90, of Caton Ave. Elmira, NY, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2003 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 15, 1913, in Sweden Valley, PA the daughter of the late Burton L. and Daisie (Carl) Lyman. Lena was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Glenn Davis Sr., brother, Lewis Lyman and sisters, Elsie Edsall and Hazel Swanson. Her survivors include: Glenn E. and Kathryn Davis of Pine City, NY; Richard L. and Rosemary Davis of Webster, NY; Barbara Davis of Canandaigua, NY; Ralph B. and Priscilla Davis of Tallahassee, FL; Russell F. Davis of Elmira, NY; Laura L.and David Little of Waterloo, NY; grandchildren, Richard (Amy) Davis, Kasia Davis, Jeffery Davis; Steven Davis, Matthew Davis; Marjorie (Todd) Grussing, Patricia (Joel) Armstrong, Ralph (Renee) Davis, Kelly S. Davis; Kirsten Davis, Christopher Davis; Patience (Dane) Johnson, Dawn (Joshua) Coyne, Richard Little; along with 8 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends. Other survivors include: brothers, Francis (Barbara) Lyman of Pine City, NY; Ralph (Gloria) Lyman of Liverpool, NY; Burt Lyman of Vestal, NY; sister, Avis (?Rip?) Shelter of Hamburg, NY; sister-in-laws, Genevieve Davis of Elmira, NY; Thelma Northcut of Arkansas; Ruth Davis of Mount Pleasant, PA. Lena was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and retired from the Elmira City School District as a secretary for Beecher Elementary School. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 2:00 PM in the Westminster Presbyterian Church 1009 Maple Ave. Elmira, NY 14904. The Reverend Cathy Stevenson will celebrate the service. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Park privately at the convenience of the family. Flowers are gratefully declined.
