Lena D. Pautz

Pautz, Lena D. age 75 Lifelong resident of the Southport Community, Passed awayTuesday, June 25, 2013 at Elcor Health Services. Lena was born in Elmira, NY January 8th, 1938. The daughter of the late, Henry and Anne (Zahorian) Dunkle. In service to her community, Lena played a huge roll in generations of children throughout the area working as a school crossing guard for many years for the Town of Southport. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Edward “Eddie” Pautz; Sons: Scott E. Pautz ofBeaver Dams, NY, Chris (Karen) Pautz of Coxsackie, NY; Grandson: Robert Pautz; Brother: Frank (Sharon) Dunkle of Pine City, Richard (PenPen) Dunkle of Wellsboro, PA; Sister: Lenora Race of Tucson, AZ; Sisters in law: Maxine Dunkle of Pine City, Nancy Dunkle of Las Vegas, NV, Betty Dunkle of Virginia Beach, VA, along with several nieces nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents Lena is predeceased by herdaughter in law: Jennifer Pautz; Brothers: Paul, Michael, Henry Dunkle; Brother in law: Richard Race. She was communicant of St. Mary’s Church of the Southside. She was a past member and President of the Southport Volunteer Fire Department #14 Auxiliary, she volunteered her time at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and held a special place in the many children she sent to school each and every day. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Monday, July 1st, 2013 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013 at St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira (Southside) at 10:30AM. Graveside committal services will follow at the St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Elmira, NY.Those wishing may make memorials to the charity of one’s choice in Lena’s name.
