Leonard L. Walker, age 73, born January 2, 1942 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Clarence J. and Eleanor Walker of Fort Myers, FL, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015.Leonard was also predeceased by his brother, Gary E. Walker of Elmira, NY; and sisters, Melva-Jean Clark of Elmira, NY and Diane Hill of Millerton, PA. He leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia; beloved daughters, Belinda (James) Olson of Horseheads, NY and Delores Thomas of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Christina Olson, Matthew Olson and Ashley Thomas; great grandchildren, Kayla Olson and Lillie Thomas; sister, Elaine (Bill) Jenkins of Fort Myers, FL, and Barbara (Chip) Rouse of Naples, NY; special friends, Thomas and Nancy Sokolowski; and several nieces, nephews and many close friends. In his earlier years he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing everywhere. Leonard was a life-time member of many organizations: DAV Chapter 13 of Elmira Heights, NY, American Legion-Clarence Oliver Post #154 of Elmira Heights, NY, VFW Post #901 of Elmira, NY, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1476 of Horseheads, NY. He was a US Army veteran.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 6:00PM-8:00 PM with funeral service following the calling hours at 8:00 PM. Reverend Robert Atkins will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of CLC II at the Bath Veterans Hospital of Bath, NY.
