Age 92 of Breesport, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born on July 15, 1914 the son of the late Robert and Catherine Peckens. In addition to his parents, his brother Wilber, and his granddaughter, Tara Bellgraph, preceded him in death. Pete was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Vivian (Wilson) Peckens; five children; Richard (Cindy) Weakland of Corning, NY, Daniel Weakland of Pine Valley, NY, Wendy (Leo) Kawczenski of Sayre, PA, Peter (Janet) Peckens of Elmira, NY and Melody (Greg) Freeman of Athens, PA; eleven grandchildren, Richard and Allan Kintz, Annie (Bobby) Farina, Jessica Cartagena, Casey, Hallie, Logan and Maren Weakland, Elizabeth Peckens, and Jennifer and Jeffery Freeman; and three great grandchildren. Pete retired from Kennedy Value after 39 years of service. He was the shop foreman in the brass foundry and machine shop. Pete also served in the U. S. Navy in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii during WW II. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Thursday, March 15, 2007 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.
