Lewis Clinton Braster

Age 74, of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday July 29, 2010 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center with his family at his side. He was born on June 23, 1936 the son of the late Albey and Catherine Braster. Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty "Rusty" Braster; children, Martin (Rebeca) Braster, Lisa (Sheridan) Ficarro, and John (Kelley) Braster; grandchildren, Dean, Emily, Lewis, Zachary and Owen; grand-dogs, "Higgins", "Dunkin", "Sid" "Phoebe", "Kito", "Bartlebee" and "Teri"; also several nieces and nephews. Lewis was a United States Army Veteran servicing during the Korean War, a member of the Elmira Heights American Legion Clarence Oliver Post # 154, member of the Big Flats Masonic Lodge and the Teamsters Union.Per Lewis's request there will be no viewing, and the family will receive friends at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave, Elmira/Southporton Sunday August 8, 2010from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with Memorial Service there at 3:00 PM, the Reverend William Vallet will officiate, the Chemung County Honor Squad will provide Military Honors for their fallen comrade. Those wishing may make memorials to The St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 in Lewis's memory.
