He was a man of God, devoted to his Church for many years where he was the Sunday School Superintendent and taught Child Evangelism Release Time Classes. He enjoyed his time with the Sunday School and he was always concerned about children. He will be remembered for his quiet spirit, his faithfulness to prayer, patience and his "slow to answer" responses. Lewis had a deep caring and abiding love for all of his family and he expressed and showed that caring love daily. He loved to have his family come home for meals and loved to share ice cream with his friends. He loved picnics and was always ready to leave for one. He enjoyed hunting, farming, especially haying, riding his 1948 Ford tractor and milking the cows. He had a passion for old tractors and for his ice cream. He was a WW II Veteran of the US Army Air Corp and served his country in Trinidad and Puerto Rico. He worked for many years at the Remington Rand and after its closing as a welder.
