Lillian A. Woodard

Woodard, Lillian A. age 73 of Elmira, passed away unexpectedly August 6th, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. She was born May 30th, 1942. The daughter of the late Beldon and Lillian (Holtz) Reed. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years and lifetime friend, Donald F. Woodard Sr. of Elmira; daughters: Christine Woodard of Elmira, Susan (Matthew) Gauthier of Elmira; son: Blair Woodard of Big Flats, NY; beloved grandson: Wyatt Gauthier; loving granddaughters: Amanda Proctor, Brandee Proctor, Stephanie Grover ; grandson: Matthew Woodard; granddaughters: Emily and Sarah Woodard; special great granddaughters: Skylar, Lacee and Payton; and a brother whom is officiating her services, Reverend Roger Reed. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Lillian is predeceased by sons: Ronald A. and Donald F. Woodard Jr.; and brother: Beldon Reed. Lillian was a wonderful cook and baker, who loved to feed her family and friends. She was proud to be a New York State phone operator, the manager for many years at Danny Discount, and Toy division manager at Hesselson’s. She was an incredible coronet player, very active in the First United Church of Christ for many years, and enjoyed teaching Sunday school. Throughout the years, many were able to refer to her as “MOM”. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Saturday, August 15th, 2015 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and again from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Lillian’s beautiful life will be held Sunday, August 16th at 1:00PM. Interment will be held privately at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira.
