Linda S. Knickerbocker

Linda S. Knickerbocker, age 68 of Big Flats, NY passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Guthrie Hospital in Corning, NY. Born on September 7, 1948 in Cumberland, Maryland to the late Joseph C. Swain and Phyllis Golden Swain. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Gary Knickerbocker; children, Wendy (Wayne) Mason and Bill (Brenda) Knickerbocker; sister, Cheryl Wilson; brothers, Jeff and Joe Swain; 1 granddaughter and 2 great-grandchildren. Linda was the proud owner of Red Knicker’s Herbs in Big Flats for 20 years. She was a dedicated volunteer at Cornell University as a Master Gardener and also at Co-operative Extension. Linda gave many herbal classes in several counties of NYS for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Flats Historical Society, 258 Hibbard Rd, Big Flats, NY 14814. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5 PM to 7 PM with a service to follow at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira.
