Lorraine M. Geiger

Lorraine went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center after an extended illness. She was the loving wife of Charles W. Geiger. The couple married on August 1, 1981. Family and friends are welcome to call from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY. Funeral services honoring her life will be held there at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 23rd. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Interment will follow in the Fitzsimons Cemetery. Lorraine was born November 30, 1940 in Elmira to the late James and Naomi (Porter) Forrest. She was a graduate of Troy High School, Arnot Ogden Medical School of Nursing, Alfred University (BSN), and Syracuse University (MSN). She was certified as a Nurse Practitioner. She held various positions in nursing, but spent years as an instructor in the Arnot School of Nursing from the early 70's to December 2002. Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Charles; sisters, Eunice (Arthur) Wilston, Shirley Forrest, Pearl (Fred) Stroud, Donna (Richard) Brass; brothers, James (Julia) Forrest, David (Sally) Forrest; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and is also survived by 5 step-children. Lorraine was active in several community and nursing organizations. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Arnot Ogden Foundation designated for the School of Nursing.
