Fossaceca, Louis M. Jr. age 76 of Elmira, NY, passed away very unexpectedly Saturday, August 22nd, 2015 with his dear friend Randy Painton.Louis was born in Elmira, March 15th, 1939. The son of the late Louis M. and Betty (McConnell) Fossaceca Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Peg of Elmira; Son: Steven (Lisa) Fossaceca of Utica, NY, Mark (Lisa) Fossaceca of Erin, NY; Daughter: Julie (Mark) Fossaceca-Tannen of Parkland, FL, Lori (Tony) Roblyer of Elmira; Grandchildren: Rachael, Michael, Katy, Sean, Sarah, Daniel, Matthew, Jeffrey; Sister: Dorlene (Bernard) Rosplock of Elmira; Brother: James (Jennie) Fossaceca of Sarasota, FL; Several nieces, nephews and many special friends including James Sandore along with his canine companion “Chloe”.In addition to his parents, Louis is predeceased by his Sister Carol Fossaceca, grandson: Joseph Roblyer. In service to his country, Lou served in the United States Marine Corp. a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Past commander of the Italian American Veterans Club, Member of the Pine City Sportsman’s Club, Devoted NRA member and the Soaring Eagles Golf Club. He was an avid sportsman. Traveling from coast to coast hunting and fishing, loved to play golf and spend time with devoted friends. Louis was a gifted pitcher for the Marine Corp., and semi- pro ball for the Penn League. He worked for Hilliard Corp. for 37 years and was known for his workplace practical jokes. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Thursday, August 27th, 2015 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. Memorial services celebrating Louis M. Fossaceca’s life will follow the calling hours at 6:00PM. Reverend John DeSocio will officiate. Lou and Peg’s home was always the place to find the largest holiday breakfast, and best Manhattan. Their door was always open for fun and friends.
