Margaret Ann "Peggy"

February 26, 1942 — March 31, 2012

Was born February 26, 1942 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Thomas Burke and Rosemary (Falsey) Holleran passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 31, 2012 surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her parents, brothers, Daniel and John Michael Holleran Sr. and niece, Mary Holleran preceded Peggy in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Howard L. "Howie" Jay; son, Stephen (Becca) Jay of Frederick, MD; daughters, Deborah Jay and Linda Jay of Elmira, NY; beloved grandchildren, Matthew Ryan and Megan Jay; brothers, Thomas (Janet) Holleran of Pine City, NY; Eugene (Maryann) Holleran, Paul (Linda) Holleran and Dave "Willie" (Denise) Holleran all of Elmira, NY; sisters, Barbara (Richard) Mosteller of Walkersville, MD; Joanne (Ronald) Bement of Elmira, NY; special sister-in-law, Rosemarie Holleran (Jerry Keefe) of Elmira, NY; B J Holleran of Southport, NY; along with many nieces and nephews. Peggy was employed with Sears and Roebuck for 7 enjoyable years. For 28 years, prior to her retirement in 2007, she was employed with the Elmira City School District as cafeteria manager at Broadway Middle School and Southside High School. She was an active member with TOPS Club # 196 for 20 years as well. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will be held there on Thursday, April 5th at 11:00 AM. Deacon George Welch will celebrate Peggy's services. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Deacon Welch conducting the committal prayers. Memorial donations in memory of Peggy may be directed to the Falck Cancer Center 600 Roe Ave. Elmira, NY 14905 in her memory. Her guestbook may be signed in obituaries at www.olthof.com
