Margaret A. Stein Beloved Mother and Grandmother Age 94 of Horseheads, formerly of Elmira, NY passed away on Wednesday September 2, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. Margaret is the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Ellen E. ( Nelan) McKlevis. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband Walter, daughter Eileen, son Larry, infant son James Robert, grandson James J., 2 brothers, 1 sister, and several brothers and sisters in law. She is survived by her children, Walter J. (Carol) Stein, John D. (Esperanza) Stein, Thomas F. (Susan) Stein, James L. (Kathy) Stein, Bob M. (Kathy) Stein, Elizabeth A. Stein, Margie Stein, sister Veronica Doud, daughter in law Kathy A. Stein, son in law Charles D. Agan, special cousin and friend Mary Frances Murphy, along with numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margaret was a very strong willed and independent person. During World War II she made ammunition at the Eclipse in Elmira Heights. After more than 20 years of service she retired from Griswold's Card & Gift Shop in Elmira. Margaret had many enjoyments in her life, from being an avid Yankee fan to canning fruits and vegetables. But the most important times of her life were the times she spent with her children and grandchildren; they were the center of her life.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport on Friday September 4, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 11:00 AM in St Peter and Paul's Church, East Market Street, Elmira followed by graveside service at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery, Elmira.
