BAILEY, Marian MeinWas born March 3, 1934 in Norfolk, NY and entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 22, 2010. Marian was a resident of Corinth, NY for 52 years. For many years, she worked as a secretary for the Continental Insurance Company in Glens Falls, NY as well as being an active volunteer at the C. W. Wood Cancer Center of the Glens Falls Hospital. Marian is the daughter of the late Reverend Edward Mein and Ethel (Tilden) Mein. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Harry Bailey; three brothers, Edward Jr. (Madelyn) of Lyons, NY; John (Barbara) of Glens Falls, NY; Frederick (Mary Ann) of Watervilet, NY. She is survived by her brother, William (Catherine) of Cohoes, NY; Carl (Joan) of Denver, CO; sister, Barbara (Reverend Laurie) Greenlaw of Millerton, PA. Additionally she is survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. For those who knew Marian, their lives were positively influenced by her love of life, people and by her contagious smile. Marian's passion for gardening demonstrated her appreciation of the beauty of life and the joy that flowers bring. A viewing in her honor will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church 203 Palmer Avenue Corinth, NY. A funeral farewell and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 (noon). The Reverend John Aldridge will officiate. A private burial will be held for the immediate family at the Corinth Rural Cemetery. Donations in memory of Marian may be made to the C. W. Wood Cancer at the Glens Falls Hospital or to her beloved First Presbyterian Church of Corinth. She has also asked that "every time you plant a flower, smile and remember me."Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904.
