Marian H. Doran

Marian H. DoranPassed into Paradise on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility and formerly resided at Flannery Apartments, Elmira, NY. She was predeceased by her first husband, Donald A. Brown, in 1959 and her second husband, William S. Doran, Jr., in 2005. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Susan Renee (Susie) Doran, and her son, John Thomas Doran, as well as her parents, William C. and Waneta (Quail) Drake, her sister, Betty Morter (Colon), and her brothers, Richard Drake and William (Sonny) Drake. She is survived by her children, Sharon (George) Hendrix, Donald (Anita) Brown, Kathleen (Ronald) Lohr and Wendy (Thomas) Watkins, together with her grandchildren, Shannon Brown Bailey, Amy Hendrix Borland, Sean Brown, Jes Hendrix, Jennifer Zito, Carlye Trickett and Lisa Zito and 11 great-grandchildren, her brother, Carl (Betty) Drake, and her sisters, Shirley Robinson, Beverly (Anthony) DiPaolo, Winifred (Michael) Giannico, and her sister-in-law, Geraldine Kimble, together with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her faithful canine companion, Bootsie. She was a former employee of the Arnot Ogden Hospital laundry and was a caregiver to the loved ones of several local families. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Chemung County SPCA or Care First. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will be celebrated by Deacon George Welch following the visitation at 2 PM. Interment will take place on Monday, December 31, 2012at 10:00 AM in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will gather at the Walnut Street gate and processing to Marian' gravesite for committal prayers.
