Age 94, died October 6, 2006 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.Marian was the beloved wife of James Alfred (Al) Ramsay who predeceased her in 1991. She was born in Ord, Nebraska.The daughter of Kent and Elsie Scudder.She is survived by her son, Dean (Valerie) Ramsay of Palmyra, PA., son, Alan (Judy) Ramsay of Elmira, NY, and daughter, Judi Wills (Robert Howland) of Elmira, NY.She is also survived by her grandchildren: Scott (Dianah) Ramsay of Kernersville, NC, Jennifer (David) Sturtevant of West Chester, PA, Thomas (Becky) Ramsay of Cocoa Beach, FL, Kimberly (Terry) Reublin of Cocoa Beach, FL, and James Ramsay of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Joni Ramsay of Elmira, NY.Her great grandchildren are Ian and Gavin Ramsay of NC, Alec and Connor Sturtevant of PA, Brandon and Amanda Reublin of FL., Jessica and Nick Ramsay and Alan Mathew, Magan and James Ramsay of Millport, NY.Also surviving Marian is her sister, Marguerite Wilson of Cameron Mills, NY, and her cousin, Florence Pyle of Lewisburg, PA.There are numerous nieces, nephews and friends who also mourn her loss. Marian was a graduate of Cortland Normal School and taught in a one-room schoolhouse.She was a 62-year member of Oakwood United Methodist Church in Elmira Heights and a member of Lake Alfred Methodist Church in FL where she and her husband wintered for over 19 years.She was an active member of the Eastern Star Alert Chapter #648 O.E.S. of Elmira Heights where she served as past matron.She was a member of the Anchor Quilters Club in Lake Alfred, FL and a past president of the Womens Club of Lake Alfred.Marian was an avid reader, resorting to talking books upon loss of her eyesight.She was warm and loving and an inspiration to all whose lives she touched. A memorial service will be held at Oakwood United Methodist Church, on Saturday October 14, 2006 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Patrick Holder officiating.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood United Methodist Church, 212 Oakwood Avenue, Elmira Heights, NY or to a charity of our choice.Those wishing may leave a Candle of Remembrance for the family in Obituaries at www.olthof.com .
