Age 77, formerly of Laurel Street, Elmira, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2004 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Athens, PA. She was born May 4, 1927 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Louise (Robinson) Murray. Marilyn was predeceased by her loving, caring, and devoted husband, LeRoy W. Freeman; brother, Edward Leo Murray. She is survived by her beloved children, Jeffery Freeman of Elmira, NY; Miralee Ackerson of Greensboro, NC; Jerry Freeman of Freeport, IL; twin daughters, Jeanette Dumas and Janice Tush, both of Florida; sisters, Barbara Hemley of Corning, NY; Kay Ellis of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Jack Murray of Horseheads, NY; along with 16 loving grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her family was her life and she loved them all dearly. She was an excellent cook, great homemaker, and wonderful housekeeper. Marilyn took great pride in hand painting the craft items that LeRoy made. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Sunday, October 10, 2004 from 4 to 6 PM. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will follow the visitation at 6:00 PM. The Reverend Donald Hoff will officiate. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Meals on Wheels and to Southern Tier Hospice.
