age 91, born June 5, 1922, still showing us how to live when called home to his eternal reward by his Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2014.He was married to his high school sweetheart, Josephine for 71 years.He is survived by children; Dennis, Karen, Peggy, Cheryl, and David and their families; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Hilda and Pat.Marion was a member of the Carpenters Local Union #532, contractor and pilot (flying his own airplane).He was a role model, father, and grandfather, devoted husband, man of Faith, patriot, proud Veteran of WWII-CBI.He was an honorable, old-fashioned gentleman, always learning, technically savvy and on Facebook.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira-Southport, NY on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.A private family funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:00 PM.Interment will take place on Monday, February 3rd in Woodlawn Cemetery at 1:00 PM where the Chemung County Veteran's Squad will accord Mr. Smith with military honors.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to Wounded Warriors or a charity of one's choice.Marion's guestbook may be signed in obituaries at www.olthof.com.
