Jennings, Marjorie J. “Jane” passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, November 25th, 2014. Jane was the daughter of the late Leonard and Avis (Friends) Martin. She was born in Troy, NY February 27th, 1933. She is survived in marriage 60 years, 30 years of which as a Navy wife; to Charles “LaVerne” Jennings of Millerton; Children: Deborah (Adrian) Whiddon of Yuma, AZ, Douglas (Kathy) Jennings of San Diego, CA, Dawn Norris of Lusby, MD, Duane (Doris) Jennings of Charlestown, IN, Daniel (Kim) Jennings of Leonardtown, MD; 10 Grandchildren;3 Great Grandchildren; 3 Four legged furry Grandchildren; 2 Step-Grandchildren; 4 Step-Great Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sisters in law: Pauline Martin of Daggett, PA, Margaret “Peg” (Bill) Everett of Millerton, PA; Brother in law: Donald (Leah) Jennings of Millerton, PA and special friends: Christine and Gary Benjamin of Bailey Creek, PA.In addition to her parents Jane is predeceased by her Sister: Harriet, Brother: Gordon; Son: David, and Granddaughter: Erin. Jane was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and neighbor. She will always be known best for her love of gardening, auctions, watching the squirrels, birds, and roosters, and listening to Charlie Pride, the country music singer. She was very proud to be a boy and girl scout leader for many years and was awarded the Boy Scouts Wood Badge Award; the Scouts highest ranking award. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Monday, December 1st, 2014 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Funeral and committal services celebrating Jane Jennings life will follow the calling hours at 6:00PM. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA. Those wishing please make memorials to the charity of one’s choice.
