Marjorie Louise Mccarthy

Marjorie L. McCarthy, born February 11, 1927 in Elmira Heights, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, John B. McCarthy; parents, Omer and Anna E. Loop; grandson, JohnRobert Lantrip; brother, H. Morton Loop; and sister, Anna (Thomas) Martin. Marge is survived by her daughter, Lori Lantrip; grandchildren, Aubrianna and Tyler Lantrip; sister, Frances (Elbert) Backer; and several nieces and nephews. Marge was a graduate of Thomas Edison High School. She retired from Thatcher Glass after many years of dedicated service in the Cost Dept. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church. Marge was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Marge enjoyed gardening her flowers and sewing. In celebration of Marge’s life a calling hour will be held at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM with funeral services following at 11:00 AM. Pastor Bill Vallet will officiate. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Marge's guestbook may be signed at www.olthof.com.
