Age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Bethany Manor in Horseheads where she most recently resided. She was born October 20, 1918 in Toronto, Canada the daughter of the late William L. and Margaret J. (Brownlee) Tobias. Marjorie was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Ellison William Parfitt November 30, 2005. Her daughter, Margaret Parfitt and her son, Robert Parfitt, also preceded her in death. Her survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, William and Ann Parfitt of Camillus, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Dubbs of Port Byron, NY; along with five grandchildren and one great grandson. Other survivors include: sisters, Rosemary (Reverend Willard) Davis of West Palm Beach, FL; Jeanne Mekos of Elmira, NY; brother, David Tobias of Locust Grove, VA; sister-in-law, Virginia Tobias of Castile, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. In her earlier years, Marjorie was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. Through the ?war years? she worked faithfully at the Remington Rand and then worked for E. E. Wood Reality of Elmira for many dedicated years as a secretary until her retirement. She volunteered numerous hours with the Board of Elections until she was physically not able to do so. Marjorie along with her beloved Ellison, were the oldest married couple of the Centenary United Methodist Church where they were faithful members.She was a member of the OES Harmony Loyal Chapter # 265 for over 50 years. Her fondest memories are the countless hours spent at their cottage on Cayuta Lake. Funeral Services honoring her life will take place following the visitation. (4:00 PM) The Reverend?s Keith Kissel and Joseph Kim will celebrate her services. Marjorie and her beloved Ellison will be laid to rest together in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park following her cremation at the Southport Crematorium Inc.
