Martha G. Wheat

January 3, 1926 — August 22, 2010

Was born January 3, 1926 in Rochester, NY the daughter of the late Robert and Jessica (Wright) Lyvers, passed away very unexpectedly on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Robert Packer Hospital at the age of 88. Her loving husband of 23 years, Robert C. Wheat, daughters, Marilyn Sheran and Lois Wheat predeceased her. She is survived by her beloved children, Linda Rhodes of Ballston Lake, NY; David (Olaug) Wheat of Grafton, MA; grandchildren, Tracie (Rusty) Miller, Julia (Shawn) Mcneil, and Benjamin Jensen-Wheat; great grandchildren, Tracie Lynn (Michael) West, Fellicia VanDyke, Nicole VanDyke, Hunter Pierce, Lorin Pierce and Lily Mcneil; great great grandchildren, Kendall Marie West and Allison Chilson; brother, Donald Lyvers; sister, Jessica Anders; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Martha was a faithful lifetime member of the Webb Mills United Methodist Church. She retired from the Arnot Ogden Medical Center after 28 dedicated years as manager of central service. After her retirement, Martha was an aide at the Booth Elementary School and also tutored the children with reading. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will held there on Friday, August 27th at 10:00 AM. The Reverend Richard Elliott will celebrate her services. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park where Martha will be laid to rest with her beloved Robert. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association P. O. Box # 3049 Syracuse, NY 13220 or the Huntington Disease Society of America (HDSA) 505 8th Ave. Suite # 902 New York, NY 10018.
