Mary Catherine Bauer

Was born November 27, 1919 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Frank and Valeria (Rosinski) Disinski, she passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2006 peacefully at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 86. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Carl in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas and John Disinski; special aunt Kathryn Apenowich. Mrs. Bauer is survived by her beloved children: son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Sandra Bauer of Pine City, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Bernadette and Richard Vacchetto of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Kathryn ?Kit? Bauer (fiancée Billy Gooshaw, Jr.) of Pine City, NY, Richard Vacchetto (fiancée Mellissa Ayres) of Rochester, NY, Brad Vacchetto (Jessica) of Rochester, NY, Bret Bauer of Pine City, NY; great granddaughters, Olivia & Isabelle Vacchetto; also several nieces and nephews; special friend Kadz Cicora of Elmira, NY.Mary was a communicant of St. Mary?s Church, who loved flower gardening, playing cards with the ?Home Bureau? and crafting.She especially enjoyed working for the Board of Elections as an inspector.Her bunny collection has exceeded 500, amassed over 5 decades of collecting.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.Funeral services honoring Mary Catherine will be heldthere on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 11:00 am.The Reverend Richard Farrell will celebrate her services.Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul?s Cemetery, Elmira.Memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary?s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira, NY 14904 or Woodbrook, 1250 Maple Ave., Elmira, NY 14904.A ?Candle of Remembrance? may be left for the family in Obituaries at www.olthof.com
