Mary Lou Collum

Of Millerton, PA, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 1st at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 27th, 1929, daughter of the late Daniel and Myrtle (Edger) Totten, Mary lived a life of love and of giving and was happiest of all when doing for others. Most recently providing home care with the same loving attention to the infirm as she lavished on her family. Many are those who were fed at her table with her well known home cooking, ever present baked treats, her forthright advice, her wise counsel and her unique humor. Chief among her passions, were her husband Wilton (Bill) Collum, who predeceased her in 1997, and her five children who survive her; Bill (Becky) Collum of Lawrenceville, PA; Allan (Myrilee) Collum of Erie, PA; Phillip Collum of Millerton, PA; LuAnn Collum (Charlie Peterson) of Edison, NJ; Lynette (Tim) Wales of Millerton, PA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Bill, Mary was predeceased by her five siblings; Lionel Totten, Daniel Totten, Ruby Manning, Eileen Kjellen, and Helen Roe. In keeping with Mary' wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held at the Millerton Wesleyan Church, Main Street Millerton, PA 16936 on Saturday, December 4th at 12:00 (noon). Pastor Laurie Greenlaw and her grandson, Bill Collum Jr. will officiate. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of her family in the Alder Run Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Bill. Memorial donations may be directed to the Millerton Wesleyan Church or to the Laurel Home Health Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church.
