Mary Helen Gordnier

Was born December 21, 1922 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Clarence and Olive M. (Updegraff) Sayles, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 84. Her beloved husband of 48 years, Lawrence W. Gordnier and sister, Dorothy Sayles predeceased her. She is survived by her loving daughters and son-in-laws, Anne and David Balch of Elmira, NY; Carole and Vincent Collins of Pine City, NY; much-loved grandchildren, Jennifer Bentley of York, PA; Jessica and David Daniels of Dade City, FL; Kelly Collins of Endicott, NY; Casey & Jason Willis of Rotterdam, NY; adored great grandchildren, Brooke Bentley, Evie and Amelia Daniels. Mary Helen was a medical secretary at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center for many dedicated years. She was a long-time member of the Riverside United Methodist Church where she was also very active in the church choir. All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Mary Ellen will be laid to rest privately on the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery.
