Age 78, formerly of Cross Fork, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at her home in Pine City, NY, surrounded by her loving family, following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Ruth Jones. Mary Lou was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Donald B. ?Hap? Nichols; sister, Doris; brother, Arthur; and great-grandson, Joshua Logan Nichols. She is survived by her two sons, Donald W. (Michele) Nichols andJ. Arthur (Aggie) Nichols, both of Elmira; brother, Bill (Shirley) Jones of Renovo, PA, formerly of Elmira, NY; sister in-law, Dori Jones of Renovo, PA; brother in-law, Harold?Babe? (Joanie) Nichols of Elmira; grandchildren, Joseph ?Art?(Julie) Nichols, Scott (Theresa) Nichols, Michelle (Howard) Henry, Jennifer (John) Wandell, Robert, Patrick, and Kimberly Nichols, Craig Hink, all of Elmira; also 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Mary Lou was an avid bowler of 60 years, a member of the 600 Club and the Women?s Bowling Hall of Fame. She was an auxiliary member of the Eagle?s Club and the Moose Club. Mary Lou loved sewing, quilting, and crafts; she belonged to the ?Stitch N Time? Craft Club, whose members donate their time and talents to making children happy. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Friday, September 30, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, with Funeral Service there Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. The Reverend Edward Crandall will officiate.
