O’LEARY, Mary C. “DeDe” Age 73 of Elmira, NY, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015.Mary was born in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Mary Evans Black and Alfred Evans Sr.She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, James M. O’Leary; sister, Virginia “Ginny” (Howard) Ellis of Elmira, NY; brother-in-law, John (Maureen) O’Leary of Long Island, NY; sister-in-law, Sue Evans of Cheraw, SC; sons and daughters, Polly (John) Costigan of San Diego, CA, Alan (Jackie) Cecce of Elmira, NY, Terry Drohan of Charlotte, NC, Laurie (Rico) Aguon of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeff (Kathleen) O’Leary of Elmira, NY, Kellie (Karl) McKinney of Baltimore, MD, Sean (Laurie) O’Leary of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Michelle “Micker” Drohan, Tasia Aguon, John O’Leary, Leticia Brand, Matt Drohan, Christopher Higgins, Patrick O’Leary, Anna King, Constance Henney, Lisa Breaker, Abigail McKinney, Nicole Cecce, Gabriel McKinney, Roque Aguon, Molly McKinney, James McKinney, Michal McKinney, Mauren O'Leary; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and devoted friend and caretaker, Heather Higgins and aide, Rebecca Higgins. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Alfred Evans Jr. and nephew, Brian Todd Leach. Mary retired from BOCES after 16 years. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed traveling, Scrabble, nickel slots and ice cream. Her beautiful smile and infectious laugh will be missed by many.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Sunday, Sept. 13th, 2015 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Mary's beautiful life will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 4:00PM. Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790 or to a charity of one's choice.
