Mary T. Rich

Rich, Mary Theresa, age 64, of Elmira, NY passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Mary was born September 20, 1951 to the late Daniel J. and Ruthella (Lewis) McDonough. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael L. Rich in 2000. She is survived by her siblings Robert (Peggy) McDonough, Daniel R. (Ruth) McDonough, Rose Kunicky, Patricia (David) Bly, Joshua McDonough, Bridget (Mark) Duncan and several nieces and nephews who treasured her. She is also survived by step-children, Michael (Barb) Rich, Carrie (Dave) Kettell and two grandsons, Michael Rich and Patrick Rich whom she adored. Mary retired after 30 years with Chemung County. She fulfilled her days of retirement volunteering for the Lions Club, the Arctic League, Eldridge Park restoration, Habitat for Humanity, Second Place East, Meals on Wheels, headed the New Beginnings Food Pantry, bowling league and the Brand Park Beautification committee. Mary was a dedicated servant of New Beginnings UMC in Elmira. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in Mary’s honor on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at New Beginnings UMC at 11:00AM. Pastor Leanne Zeck will officiate. Burial will follow the memorial service at 12:00PM in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
