Age 89,of Pine City went to be with her husband, Ellery and with her Lord, on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira.She was born on April 14, 1914 toJacob and Cora Brown.Mary is survived by her son; Ellery L. Stone, III (Lana) of Caton, NY, daughters; Charlene L. Zearfoss (James J. ) of Horseheads, NY, Clarice L. Miles of Dundee, NY, grandchildren; Rachel (George) Oertel, Adam, Emily & Diana Stone, William & Megan Zearfoss and Melanie Zearfoss Adams, Jessica & Derek Miles, Amanda Eicher, great grandson; Eddie of St. Petersburg, FL.Mary was predeceased by her husband, Ellery Stone, Jr.; grandchildren, James Ellery Zearfoss and Joseph Edward Zearfoss, brother; Leonard Brown.Mary was a President, Chaplain ( 8years), Spotlight Editor (14 years) and active member of Chapter #276 AARP and received a 25 year AARP member recognition and also was secretary and treasurer as well as chaired various committees. She was the organist for 45 years at the Webb Mills United Methodist Church as well as Choir Director, Lay Leader and Sunday School Teacher.Mary?s other activities included Literacy volunteer, Meals on Wheels volunteer, RSVP Reading volunteer at Broadway Elementary, 55 Alive Instructor, Member of Order of the Eastern Star, National Community Service Award 1991.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, on Thursday, October 9, 2003 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and again on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.Funeral and Committal will be in Webb Mills United Methodist Church, 1623 Pennsylvania Ave., Pine City, NY, on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 11:00 am with Reverend?s Patrick Haley, Don Hoff and Janice Fitzgerald officiating.Interment in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens at the convenience of the family.A ?Candle of Remembrance? may be left for the family at www.olthof.com.
