Matthew C. Miller

Matthew C. Miller, age 96, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Matthew was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Charlotte; and son, Peter Miller. Matt is survived by his loving children, David (Darlene) Miller, Kathryn Service, Elaine Hintz, Teresa (Bob) Rich, Melissa Shiflett and Jill (David) Bailey; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Matt was a veteran of the US ARMY who served in WWII with the 282ND Artillery Battalion in both Europe and the Pacific. He was dedicated to attending his 282nd Army reunion for 58 years. He retired from Sears after over 25 years of dedicated service. Matt was very passionate about traveling with his wife in their RV, exploring many parts of the United States. He was devoted to his family and was always ready to give a helping hand when needed. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at CareFirst who took wonderful care of him.
