Meredith B. Moore

August 22, 1908 — May 25, 2006

Was born August 22, 1908 in Oxford, NY the daughter of the late Ralph H. and Luina (Wiggins) Baldwin, she passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at St. Joseph?s Hospital at the age of 97. Her loving husband of 55 years, Ralph V. Moore in 1988, sister, Catherine Moore and grandson, John B. Moore, predeceased Meredith. She is survived by her beloved sons and daughter-in-laws, Dr. Ralph B. and Carolyn Moore, John ?Jack? and Jeri Moore all of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Scott and Sharon Moore, Elizabeth and Jef Cox, Susan and Philip Daubner, Margaret and Peter Howland; Molly and Daniel Frankel, Mara Moore, Richard and Linda Kimball, Alexander Brown; along with 14 great grandchildren, niece, Karen (Norman) Alterman, cousin, Eloise Baldwin. For many years, Meredith was a home economics teacher in the Elmira area, then was employed by Elmira College as a faculty member for several dedicated years and was also a Regional Sales Manager for World Book Encyclopedia. Mrs. Moore has been a sustaining member of The Park Church since March 21, 1940. She volunteered faithfully for the Junior League as well as Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service honoring Meredith?s life on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 11:00 AM in The Park Church, 208 West Gray Street, Elmira, NY 14901. The Reverend Robert F. Lester will celebrate her services. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of her family. The family will provide their own flowers. Memorial Donations may be directed to The Park Church in her memory. Meredith?s family will receive friends in Beecher Hall following the Memorial Service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY. A ?Candle of Remembrance? may be left for her family in obituaries at www.oflthof.com
