Michael Bedzyk

November 16, 1925 — January 10, 2003

Age 77 of Gillett, PA went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 10, 2003 at the Robert Packer Hospital. He was born November 16, 1925 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Michael and Anna (Moskal) Bedzyk. Mike was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia in 1977. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Marjorie A. (Vrzal) Bedzyk; beloved children, Victor (Patricia) Bedzyk of Cleveland, GA; Michael (Monica) Bedzyk of Willmett, IL; Faye (Michael) Willett of Winter Haven, FL; Laraine Joy of Denver, CO; Mark (Catherine) Bedzyk of Pittsford, NY; Judi Barnholdt of Cicero, NY; Robert (Sue) Vrzal of Willseyville, NY; Jeffery Vrzal of Elmira, NY; brothers, Rev. Peter (Jennie) Bedzyk of Erie, PA; Rev. John (Roberta) Bedzyk of Elmira, NY; sister, Helen Weaver of Elmira, NY; along with 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of caring friends. Mike was a founding member of the Elmira Christian Center supporting the work of his brother, Rev. John Bedzyk and serving his Lord in various ministries in the church. He was a Veteran of the US Navy proudly serving his country during WW II. He was an electrical contractor who owned and operated Bedzyk Electric Service. ?Brother Mike? as he was known by his church family, was a humble and faithful servant of Jesus Christ and always carried a happy smile. The family will greet friends on Monday, January 13, 2003 at the Elmira Christian Center 235 East Miller Street Elmira, NY from 10 ? 11 AM. Funeral Services celebrating Mike?s life and honoring his memory will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. The Rev. David Cook will officiate. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn National Cemetery where full Military honors will be accorded to Mr. Bedzyk by the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad. Remembrances of a happy time, comforting experience or a time of sharing would be appreciated. Please bring these written thoughts with you to be placed in a memory book to be available at the church. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be directed to the Elmira Christian Center 235 E. Miller Street Elmira, NY 14904. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY.
