Michael A. Ziegler

Michael Anthony Ziegler, a native and resident of Elmira, NY passed away on July 26, 2024. He was 66 years old. He loved his family and friends, and had a soft spot for cats. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing, and would proudly share his deer meat. He also loved sitting on his front porch on a sunny day with his favorite beer in hand. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna L. Groom.

He is survived by: his children – David Smith, Christine Smith, Michael Ziegler and partner Jenn Callahan, Patrick Ziegler and wife Tonyajean, Marcy Martone, and Anthony Ziegler, and their mothers Lillian Martone and Angela Potter; his grandchildren – Zach, Davey, Courtney, Michael, Keria, Michael, Knia, Zakia, Hannah, Michael, Tyler, Jaxyn, Izabella, Cameron, Ashley, Ethen, Alexia, Alivia, Joseph, Makenna, Heaven, Levi, Anthony, Jr., Zoe, and Mia; 15 great-grandchildren; his siblings – Tianna Hurlburt and husband Steve, Vicky Dupont, Raymond Golden, Chris Golden, and Becky Hunt and husband Mike; his aunts – Dixie Molina and Charlene Perez; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

A family-led celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations of food and supplies to the Elmira Animal Shelter, 842 Linden Place, Elmira, NY 14901 may be made in his honor.
