Mildlred J. Furman

Furman, Mildred J. “Millie” Age 86 a longtime member of the Daggett community passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Millie was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Myrtle (Moore) Rinker. She was born in Elmira June 26th, 1928. Surviving is her loving husband of 31 years Herbert Furman of Daggett; children: Timothy (Marie) VonNeida of Elmira, Dayrl (Kathie) VonNeida of Montour Falls, Thomas VonNeida of Elmira, Jacquelyn VonNeida of Elmira, LuAnn Rhode of Elmira; Step Children: Herbert C. (Mary Lynne) Furman of Southport, Michele (Dominic) Peters of Horseheads, Darlene (John) McKinney of Ashville, NC, Lisa (Joseph) Caccia of Bradenton, FL; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; Brother: Richard (Beverly) Rinker of Caro, MI.along with several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by: Sisters and brothers in law: Doris and Donald Swarthout, twin sister Phyllis and Edger Mathews. Millie was a member of the Daggett United Methodist Church. She loved to cook, gardening and growing beautiful flowers. She really enjoyed working at Bradley Farms for many years. Seeing the flowers bud out and bloom were her favorite time of the year. Her grandchildren filled her life with all the love she needed in life. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Thursday, December 18th, 2014 6:00PM to 8:00PM and again on Friday, December 19th from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. Funeral and committal services to celebrate her wonderful life will follow at 1:00PM. Pastor Jennifer Wolf and Pastor Sandy Brandt will officiate. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
