Miriam E. Strader

Age 94, of the Bragg Towers, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Miriam was born March 4, 1920 in Knoxville, PA the daughter of the late Ivan and Ethel (Brimmer) Edgcomb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; son, Leslie; grandson, Steven; sister and brother in-law, Lucille and Arnold Prutsman. She is survived by her loving children: John, Ellen (Ansel) Grover and Kathy Strader of Elmira; brother, Leslie Edgcomb of Rochester, NY (special friend Helen Allen of Rochester, NY); Diane Strader-Miner of Rome, NY; along with 9 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Miriam loved her family, friends and grandchildren. She left a positive and loving touch on everyone she met and knew. She was a graduate of EBI and worked as a professional business women. Family and friends are invited to gather at the New Beginnings United Methodist Church 300 East Miller Street Elmira, NY on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Funeral services celebrating her life will follow the visitation at 1:30 PM. Reverend Bill Vallet will officiate.
