Muriel L. Johnson

Was born November 24, 1920 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Bert and Pearle (Holton, Cole) Brewer passed away peacefully at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her former husband, Victor G. Johnson in 1982; twin sister, Marion Giroux in 1999; along with numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins. She is survived by her loving daughters and son-in-laws, Jean Ann and Patrick Steed of Horseheads, NY; Carol L. and Dale Granger of Elmira, NY; beloved grandchildren, Michael Patrick Steed of Elmira, NY; Mark Andrew Steed of Sayre, PA; Elizabeth Ann (Luis) Davila of Virginia Beach, VA; great granddaughter, Elena Catherine Davila; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Muriel was a graduate of the Southside High School class of 1939. She retired from the Arnot Ogden Medical Center as outpatient receptionist after several years of dedicated service. She also was a faithful volunteer at St. Josephs Hospital. Muriel attended North Presbyterian Church whenever she could. Some of her fondest memories are playing cards with her close friends. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904. Funeral services honoring her life and celebrating her memory will follow the visitation at 7 PM. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
