CORNELL, Nancy G.Formerly of 819 West Second StreetWas born July 13, 1932 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late LeRoy and Ruth (Focht) Goodenough, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 75. Her first husband, John F. Brewer, second husband, Archie Cornell, sister, Barbara Edwards, brother-in-laws, Harold Strailey, Bill Van Horn, Joe Kolla and Brian Conklin; predeceased her. Nancy is survived by her loving children, John Jack (Joy) Brewer of Millerton, PA; Charles Chuck (Valerie) Brewer of Roscoe, IL; Mark (Renee) Brewer of Garland, TX; Jennifer Brewer of Mount Ida, AR; step-children, Wendy Cornell of Elmira, NY; Amy (Joe) Longwell of Pine City, NY; beloved grandchildren, Brendan (Leslie) Brewer, Connor Brewer, Ethan Brewer, Chad Ford, Jeremey Brewer, Cameron Brewer and Nathan Brewer; adored great grandchildren, Alden Brewer and Tristin Ford; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Longwell and Stephen Longwell; sisters, Suzanne Strailey of Elmira, NY; Maryann Van Horn of Elmira, NY; Marcia Kolla of Harleysville, PA; Alice Conklin of Saugerties, NY; brother, Charles Goodenough of Wind Gap, PA; brother-in-law, Donald Edwards of Sarasota, FL; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was a member of the following: North Presbyterian Church, the Craft Club and the Garden Club. She was a dedicated employee of Panosian's managing the childrens shoe department for many years. She was very active with the Girl Scouts of America and was a faithful Den Leader with the Cub Scouts pack # 70. Nancy was an enthusiastic supporter of all her childrens activities especially the football, basketball, track, and volleyball they participated in. She was a tremendous baker and enjoyed gardening. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will follow the visitation at 7 PM. The Rev. Gary Chorpenning will celebrate her services. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of her family in Woodlawn Cemetery.
