Nancy L. Marsh

Of Elmira Heights, NY, was born September 14, 1940 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Victor G. and Lucille I. (Butler) Marsh.She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Mary 26, 2009 at the Troy Community Hospital at the age of 68. "Nan" is survived by her beloved sister, Janet (John/Rick) Stooks of East Syracuse, NY; beloved brothers, Larry (Judy) Marsh of Elmira, NY; Randy (Debbie) Marsh also of Elmira, NY; nieces, Melissa (Charles) DePaolo of Newfield, NY; Kaitlyn Stooks of East Syracuse, NY; nephews, Victor "Jerry" (Jill) Marsh of Elmira, NY; Justin Stooks of East Syracuse, NY; Ryan Marsh (fiancée Katrina Plate) of Elmira, NY; Sean Marsh also of Elmira, NY; great-niece, Alexandra Marsh; great nephew, Brandon DePaolo; aunt, Carol Butler of Johnson City, NY; along with several cousins, many wonderful friends and neighbors. Nancy retired from LRC Electronics/Thomas & Betts after 40 years of faithful service. She was the owner of Nan's Style Salon in Elmira Heights for 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post # 154 Auxiliary for 37 years, member of the AARP Chapter # 276 and attended the Maranatha Bible Chapel in Horseheads. "Nan" enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends. A gathering of her family and friends will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira/Southport, NY from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services honoring Nancy's life will follow the visitation at 7 PM. The Reverend William Wells will celebrate "Nan's" service. Interment will take place on Friday at 11:00 AM in the Woodlawn Cemetery, where Nancy will be laid to rest with her loving parents. Memorial donations may be directed to the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA, 2435 Route # 352, Elmira, NY 14903 or to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, 945 County Route # 64, Elmira, NY 14903 in memory of Nancy.
