Nancy Lea (Kelley) Peters

Nancylea “Nancy” Kelley-Peters, a native and resident of Elmira, NY, passed away on July 12, 2025. She was 71 years old.

Nancy had a smile that could light up any room, and heart that was so genuine. She loved music, and could dance like nobody's business! She also loved her plants. When she wasn't watering her plants, she was busy doing puzzles or coloring.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents – Gerald and Dawn (Butters) Kelley; an infant sister Sheila Kelley; her brother David Kelley; her sister KaySandra “Sandy” Buchanan; her sister-in-law Eva Kelley; her nephew Ronald Scharett; and several cousins.

She is survived by: her husband Robert G. Peters, Jr.; her daughter Martini Rivera and her children – Thalia, Nathalia, and Layla; her son Sean Kelley and his children – Darius, Calliou, Trinitey, and Aryani; her brothers – Darrin Kelley and wife Angie, and Thomas “Tom” Kelley; her nieces and nephews – Savanah Sorey, Justin Kelley, Veronica Kelley, Tom Kelley, Jr., Rebecca Kelley, Ashley Kelley, and Robert Scharett; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and her close friends – Joyce Hackett and Michelle Allen.

A celebration of her life will be held from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM on August 2, 2025 at the V.F.W. - Rex Field Post 901, located at 113 Keefe St, Elmira, NY 14904. Friends and family are invited to bring a dish to pass, and special memories to share.
