Brown, Naomi H. a lifelong resident of the Millerton communityAge 85, passed away Monday, June 15th, 2009 at the Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro, Pa. Naomi was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lola Reed Hibbard. She was born in Keating township. Her loving husband Robert predeceased her in 1988 along with her granddaughter Racheal Jo Brown and numerous brothers and sisters. Naomi is survived by her children Lawrence (Arlene) Brown of Jobs Corners, Pa, Robert (Roxanne) Brown of Elmira, Victoria (David) White of Pine City, Denise (Chuck) Swertfager of Hawkinsville, GA, Marcia (Lawrence) Heinzelman of Coudersport, PA, Dennis (Karen) Brown of Austell, GA; 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Naomi is also dearly missed by her three sisters: Lola Ommen of Prescott, AZ, Dorothy (William) Martin of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Joyce Black of Limestone, NY and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are may gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira. Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held there on Thursday, June 18th, at 1:00PM. Pastor Jennifer Wolf will officiate. Graveside committal prayers will follow the funeral services in the Maple Ridge Cemetery, Jackson-Summit PA. Full military honors accorded to honor her personal sacrifice to her country during World War II. Naomi was a long time member of the Jackson Center Church, a United States NAVY veteran of World War II. She loved her work with children as a teachers aide in the Millerton Elementary School and in recent years she liked being a part of the Garrett Miller Seniors Center in Millerton, and the many wonderful memories she made there.She took great pride in teaching all the ladies of her family the art of Crocheting. She loved to cook and look after her family and friends. Her grandchildren and her great grandchildren where her greatest joy in life. She will best be remembered for operating her home, her way without compromise, and the devoted love she showed everyone that she knew. She will always be missed.
