Nellie Mae Wendela

Nellie M. Wendela "Gram" was born on March 28, 1926 in Wyalusing, Pennsylvania. She was born to the late William and Emily Benjamin. She passed away on Saturday, July 18 in Horseheads, NY.Preceding Nellie in death were her parents, William and Emily; husband, Eino; son, Thomas; daughter, Betty Doane; sisters, Della, Martha, Helen, and Rosie; brothers, Herbert, Ralph, and Sheldon; and granddaughter, Angela. Nellie was also preceded in death by special nieces, nephews, other relatives as well as many good friends. Nellie is survived by daughters, Jane Seymour of Elmira, NY, Lillian (Dan) Kennedy of Enterprise, AL, Connie (Ray) Shadduck of Elmira, NY; sons, Allen and Keith Wendela of Elmira, NY, John (Valerie) Colunio of Elmira, NY; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home with the funeral service following directly after at 2:00 PM. Pastor Daniel Kennedy will officiate. Followed by a graveside service which will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
