Age 81 of Elmira, NY died Wednesday January 28, 2008 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years; Irene Sawyer Jabore, son; Donald of Alexandria, VA.daughter; Mary Lou, of London, England, granddaughter; Grace of San Antonio, TX, sisters; Jane (George) Saba and Thelma Raski, sisters-in-law; Leona Garrison, Marie Sherman, Bonnie (Gordon) Ritchie, brother-in-law; Thomas Sawyer, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary; father, Joseph; stepmother, Lottie; brothers, Moses, Albert, and Jabra, all of Wilkes Barre, PA.Nicholas was a United States Army Air Force Veteran and a member of the American Legion Brooks-Flick Post # 49 at Troy, PA. He was a machinist at Hardinge Brothers Inc., retiring after 30 years of service.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there Tuesday evening at 8:00 PM with The Reverend William Vallet officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church, 1238 Pennsylvania Ave., Pine City, NY 14871 or to the charity of one?s choice.
