NILS D.CARDOf Millerton, PA Age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Nils was born at home in Millerton, PA January 29, 1931 to his loving parents who preceded him in death, Noel and Cecelia (Peterson) Card. He is survived by his friend, his love of 57 years, Patricia (Reese) Card of Millerton, PA; daughters, Cecilia Wojtalik of Anderson, SC; Linda (Mel) Shaw of Dayton, NY; son Roy Card (Jan Reisbeck) of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Christopher, Celia, Anna, Zachary, Amanda, Nils and Noel; great grandchildren, Issac, Victoria, Angelina and Thomas; sisters, Hilda Allen of Elmira Heights, NY; Josephine (Marion) Smith also of Elmira Heights, NY; special friends, Don and Marilyn Kimble of Big Flats, NY; Russell Root of Millerton, PA; along with several nieces and nephews. Nils was a devoted driver for Agway for 26 years. In addition to working for Agway Nils continued the Card family farm after the death of his father. He was a loved member of the Millerton Community and the Millerton United Methodist Church. Nils was proud to be a Brother of the Big Flats Masonic Lodge # 378 F & AM, serving as Past Master. He was also a Past Master of the Jessie L. Cooley Lodge # 966 F & AM. Past Monarch of the Cashmere Grotto, Past President of the Empire State Grotto Association and was a member of the Millerton Volunteer Fire Department. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. A Memorial Service celebrating Nils's life will be held there at 4:15 PM. Pastor Jennifer Wolfe will officiate. Memorial donations may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
