Norma Jean Garrison

Norma Jean GarrisonAge 92 of Horseheads, NY. Passed away on Tuesday September 23, 2014 at her home, with her family at her side. Norma was born on September 14, 1922 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late M. Alonzo and Ethel Baker Colson. She married her friend and love of her life, Rex Garrison on June 5, 1944; together they shared 57 happy and loving years until her husband passed in 2001. Norma is survived by her loving son, William(Margaret Ann) Garrison; sisters, Doris Clark of Horseheads, NY and Dorothy Colson of Elmira Heights, NY; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents and husband Norma is predeceased by her sisters and brother in-laws, Olive (Emil) Wengel, Mary (Lenny) Wojnarek, Lewis Clark, Adrian (Betty) Garrison, Don (Carrie) Garrison, and Lenny (Virginia) McLean; special friends Corlyn Walluk and Josephine Broich. Norma grew up in Elmira Heights, NY, her and Rex operated a dairy farm in Jobs Corners, PA until 1977. After retiring from farming they moved to Fort Myers, FL until 1988 when they moved back to Horseheads, NY.It was Norma’s request that there be no formal services and she will be laid to rest next to Rex in Jobs Corners Cemetery.
