Norma C. SalvatiNorma was born in Buffalo, NY in 1934 to Justin and Ann Romasser (both deceased). She moved to Elmira as a young child and graduated from Elmira Catholic High School. She worked at Chemung Canal Bank after high school. She married Salvatore N. Salvati in 1966. (he died in 2000) She worked for Salvatore's Accounting practice as a secretary until he retired. She has a sister Barbara Tigue who currently lives near Chicago, IL. (who is 2 years older). She had 2 children, John Salvati (married to Candy Salvati), who lives in Utica, NY, and Joann (Salvati) Butler (married to Jay Butler), who lives outside of Denver, CO. She has several grandchildren - Anthony Salvati, Tiffany Irvin, Christina Irvin, Paige Butler, and Evan Butler. She also has several nieces and a nephew. She enjoyed going to craft fairs and traveling, including Hawaii and Europe.Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Utica, NY who took care of Norma for the past 2 years. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM in St. at St. Patrick's Blessed Sacrament Church 604 Park Place Elmira. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
