Norman Carl Shaylor

Norman C. ShaylorAge 73 of Pine City, NY. Born on November 8, 1940, passed away on Tuesday November 19, 2013, at Chemung County Nursing Facility after a 38-year battle with diabetes. He is survived by his wife of 53 years,Carol Lou Shaylor; sons John (Diane) Shaylor, Randy (Paula) Shaylor, and Jeff (Wendy) Shaylor; grandchildren, Christi (Don) Wescott, Tyler, Shawn, Nicole, Adam, and Megan, and one great grandchild, Owen Wescott; sister, Sandy (Larry) Williams, brother in-lawAnd sister in-law, Scott (Diane) Pedalty and along with a niece and several nephews. Norman was a retired Corrections Officer from Livingston Correctional Facility, Avid NASCAR Fan; Geoff Bodine was his favorite driver. He enjoyed watching the Baltimore Oriolesand was an avid NY Jets fan. He was also an Eagle Scout. Norman lovedbeing at Browns Fork huntingCamp with family.After retiring he and Carol traveled full time in their RV. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their events. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport on Friday November 22, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with Funeral Service there Saturday at 11:00 AM followed by graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery.
