January 30, 1920 — July 9, 2005

Age 85 of Elmira, NY, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Bath Veterans Hospital, Bath, NY.He was born in Syracuse NY, the son of the late Edward and Helena (Wilke) Narosky. Owen is survived by children, Linda (Alan) Hager, Jack (Mary Anne) Narosky, and Judy (Ted) Pack; grandchildren, Carrie Waite (Fiancée, Hugh Williams) Jeremie (Angela Kosmicki) Narosky, Jennifer Narosky (Fiancée, Fred Sexton), Lauren Narosky and Jessica Pack; great-granddaughter, Aliyah Sexton; step-grandchildren, Alan Jr., Scott, and Chris Hager and their families. Predeceseased by beloved wife, Iva Narosky in December 2000; stepfather, Daniel Richardson; brothers, Raymond and Richard Narosky; and sister, Vivian Morrow. Owen was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1937-1938. He proudly served in the United States Army 9th Infantry Division during World War II and participated in 5 campaigns, including the Normandy Campaign. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries in France, 1944, also awarded the Bronze Star and the Belgian Fourragere. He worked for Remington Rand for over 30 years until it?s closing, then went to work for Hardinge Brothers until his retirement. Owen was a member of the Clarence Oliver American Legion Post #154, Elmira Heights, and lifetime member of DAV. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and neighbors and in his spare time enjoyed gardening, fishing, and NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with Funeral Service there Wednesday at 11:00 AM.Chaplain Jerry Hamlin from the Bath VA Hospital will officiate.Intermentwill follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY, with full military honors accorded at the grave. Memorial donations may be made to the Bath VAMC, Activity Fund 3rd Floor Nursing Home Care Unit. 76 Veterans Avenue, Bath, NY 14810. His family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the loving and compassionate care he received from everyone working on the 3rd Floor Nursing Home Unit, Bath VAMC, with special thanks to Julie and Katie.
