Patricia is now in Heaven with her loving parents, David W. and Florence Potter, Nelson and Eleanor Niles; brother, David “Butch” Potter; and sister, Wilma Niles. Patricia is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Charles F. Niles; son, Chucky “Punk” (Michelle) Niles; her two grandsons who were her life, CJ and Hunter Niles; siblings, Bernice Potter, James (Mary) Potter and Mary (Dave) Hill; brothers-in-law, Denny, Milton (Diane), Norman (Orletta) and Wayne (Robin) Niles; sisters-in-law, Nyomi (Jesse) Rice and Lydia King; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her niece, Melissa Rice Reynolds for her spiritual guidance; her nephew, John Rice for his amazing support; and to Lydia King and Mary Hill for their support and care. Pat worked for 15 years at Head Start as a caring teacher’s aide and child advocate. Pat showered children in her care with kindness and creativity. While working at Head Start, Pat met her lifelong loving friend, Connie Winebold. They were best friends for over 45 years. As much as Pat enjoyed her time at Head Start, her greatest role was as a mother to her only child. She considered herself blessed to be a mother to her son Chucky. When her health permitted, Pat volunteered at St. Peter and Paul's Church for two years. She felt joyfully close to the Lord and said that volunteering enhanced her spiritual life. People were drawn to Pat for her beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor. She treated all she met with compassion and love. Pat was known for her green thumb and her flower beds were spectacular. Pat also had a love for humming birds, wind chimes, crazy hats and wild earrings. The joy of Pat’s life was her two remarkable grandsons, CJ and Hunter. She derived supreme happiness from being with her grandsons and loving son, Chucky. On any given warm day Pat would be on her porch swing sipping a Pepsi while holding hands with the love of her life. Their 46 year marriage was a remarkable love story. Chuck believed in the vows, "in sickness and in health". Pat benefitted greatly by his utter devotion to her. Pat had the biggest and purest heart. Calling hours will be held at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904 on Sunday, March 27TH from 6:00 to 8:00PM.
